Celebrating 25 Years
of Quality Service

In the early 1980s, the Bexar County Medical Society employed only eight employees, membership was stagnant — and going downhill.
Dr. Aloysius Thaddeus was President of the Medical Society at the time, and he knew the strength of any organization equals the size of the membership. He called a general membership meeting and had a quorum of 50 members present.

He proposed that the Society needed to be a professional association with a focus on service to its members. He received a majority vote to start a 501C, the Service Bureau, which greatly impacts BCMS today.

Over the next few years, services for physicians were added including the Auto Program, Book Binding, Mailing Labels and the BCMS Pictorial Directory.

In February 1982, under the direction of Ben White, a Staffing Agency was added. BCMS members were offered permanent, qualified medical staff at a lower fee than non-members would pay. Ten years later, temporary staffing was offered.

This year, BCMS Staffing Services is celebrating 25 years of quality service. They work directly with local physicians and their office staff representing San Antonio’s medical professionals. On a daily basis, they recruit, interview, evaluate skill level, check references, criminal backgrounds and license verifications. They offer direct hire employees, temporary employees and temp-to-hire employees, resulting in the versatility to accommodate virtually every employer’s need.

As the job market grows more demanding, BCMS Staffing works diligently for physicians in a constant effort to find the best employees. Their goal is to continue to provide superior and quality service to the medical community. They take pride in their work and strongly believe a support staff is a key component to any successful practice.

The BCMS Staffing Services profits go directly back to the Medical Society, which enables it to be the professional organization dedicated to service and advocacy for its physician members that Dr. Thaddeus envisioned in the early 1980s.

As BCMS Staffing Services celebrates 25 years of service and revenue for the Medical Society, the entire staff, with great pride, will continue its dedication of quality service to the physicians.
